Do you dream in black and white or in color?

The 2023-2024 year has been very special, filled with exhibitions and events in which I have participated, either as an active part with my works or simply as a spectator of the artistic visions of many of the members who have enriched me as an artist.

I feel very proud and surprised by my classification, since I am a "glutton" for color, I could devour all colors as if they were gummies.

But the classification was granted to me for my monochromatic constructions, more precisely tonalities ranging from broken whites to diffused grays and Chinese inks scattered in a composition of fish bones—a conceptual challenge where I seek to reflect and question, like a game, the eye that scrutinizes the image for a few seconds, sometimes achieving a click of strangeness.

My creations arise in dreams. I have an easy time remembering images like flashes, usually fragmented and disconnected where black and white almost always predominate and something unusual of a bright color.

That is my origin, and then I seek to materialize it in a constructed image where multiple photographs and genuine drawings merge, or as a sculptor builds reflection, leaving aside the impressionistic side of the color of my left eye, to concentrate with my right eye—the rational one—which likes to think in black and white.

Therefore, to my initial question, I answer: I am not free to separate my eyes, but depending on my mood, my concerns, my desires, or my delusions, these eyes take turns in a tolerant dance so that I can continue creating.
